Le nomination dei Soul Train Awards

Beyoncé e Mary J. Blige in testa alle nomination dei 2022 Soul Train Awards

Sono state annunciate le nomination ai Soul Train Awards 2022. Tra i principali nominati ci sono Beyoncé e Mary J. Blige, che hanno ricevuto entrambe sette nomination, tra cui quella di Miglior artista femminile R&B/Soul. Le due icone dell'R&B si sono assicurate anche l'Oscar dell'anno per i rispettivi album del 2022, Good Morning Gorgeous e Renaissance.

Il recente album di Mary J.Blige include il brano “Good Morning Gorgeous”, che dà il titolo al lavoro, che ha conquistato le classifiche ed è candidato a numerosi trofei come l'Ashford and Simpson Songwriter's Award e il Video of the Year. Nel frattempo, il successo di Beyoncé nella Billboard Hot 100 "Break My Soul" è in lizza per l'Ashford and Simpson Songwriter's Award, così come la canzone "Church Girl", amatissima dai fan.

Ari Lennox, che ha recentemente pubblicato il suo secondo album age/sex/location, segue con sei nomination. Tra queste figurano la canzone dell'anno e il video dell'anno per "Pressure".

La canzone, co-prodotta da Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox ed Elite, ha raggiunto la posizione n. 1 della classifica R&B. È stata inoltre certificata oro con oltre 500.000 unità equivalenti vendute. È interessante notare che il nuovo album della Lennox, age/sex/location, non ha ricevuto la nomination per l'album dell'anno. Tuttavia, il suo EP a sorpresa Away Message ha ricevuto una nomination.

Chris Brown ha ricevuto cinque nomination, tra cui Best Dance Performance per "We (Warm Embrace)" e "Call Me Crazy Every Day". Tra gli altri nominati figurano Chaka Khan, Silk Sonic, Maxwell, Muni Long, PJ Morton, Tank, Steve Lacy, Queen Naija e molti altri.
